Canada (pronounced /ˈkænədə/) is a country occupying most of northern North America, extending from the Atlantic Ocean in the east to the Pacific Ocean in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean. It is the world's second largest country by total area and its common border with the United States to the south and northwest is the world's longest. The land occupied by Canada was inhabited for millennia by various groups of Aboriginal people. Beginning in the late 15th century, British and French expeditions explored, and later settled along, the Atlantic coast. France ceded nearly all of its colonies in North America in 1763 after the Seven Years' War. In 1867, with the union of three British North American colonies through Confederation, Canada was formed as a federal dominion of four provinces. This began an accretion of provinces and territories and a process of increasing autonomy from the United Kingdom. This widening autonomy was highlighted by the Statute of Westminster of 1931 and culminated in the Canada Act of 1982, which severed the vestiges of legal dependence on the British parliament. A federation comprising ten provinces and three territories, Canada is a parliamentary democracy and a constitutional monarchy, with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is a bilingual and multicultural country, with both English and French as official languages both at the federal level and in the province of New Brunswick. One of the world's highly developed countries, Canada has a diversified economy that is reliant upon its abundant natural resources and upon trade—particularly with the United States, with which Canada has had a long and complex relationship. It is a member of the G8, G-20, NATO, OECD, WTO, Commonwealth of Nations, Francophonie, OAS, APEC, and United Nations. From Wikipedia under the

Q. So many of my fellow Canadians embarrass me. Its bad enough hockey is played beyond Canada and especially in the Untied States. When you support any team or player not from Canada that's grounds for treasons! Why don't any of you understand that Hockey is Canada's game and no one else? Only in Canada will every and anything hockey always sells out and make money. Not in those countries that are inferior to Canada. Destroying hockey destroys Canada and those who commit any traitorous act shall suffer the consequences. Asked by Miles - Thu Aug 27 14:27:57 2009 - - 20 Answers - 0 Comments A. It's actually the other way around: YOU embarrass Canada with your idiotic comments. You must be from either Toronto or Montreal because I can't think of why or how you can be this dumb. Answered by thelau - Thu Aug 27 19:52:55 2009 How can we, the people of Canada, ask for a referendum to reform our monetary system? Q. Our government could borrow from the bank of Canada at 0% of interest in order get out of perpetual debt. 95% of our money is created by private banks out of thin air. Asked by Akachaki - Sat Oct 24 09:54:01 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. Same thing that we, the people of Canada, ask for anything from the Govt. Speak to your MP and if he believes it is a good idea and/or enough others speak to him about it you will find it happening. Keep in mind, other then "the" referendum held in the late 90s, we don't waste our time with them here much. I think you have been reading too many US centric questions around here and you are picking up their bad habits. Answered by Randy B - Sat Oct 24 10:12:29 2009 What are the regulations for flying un-manned high altitude ballons in canada?
Q. Yea I want to make one of those high altitude balloons but I live in Canada. What regulations should I use? FAA is only for America as far as i know and I couldn't find any information on high altitude balloon regulations in Canada. If Canada doesn't have any rules then what should I do? I could only find information about hot air balloons on their website. Would I only need to call them and say that im flying a balloon? Canada does not give very clear information on this subject. You've got to get approval of Transport Canda: You need permission to send anything through regulated airspace, otherwise you're putting air travellers in danger.
